SILCHAR: The Apanjan Sarbojonin Durga Puja Committee is gearing up to celebrate its 8th edition of Durga Puja with a unique theme and grandeur.
Bilpar’s Shankar Dighirpar, members of the Puja committee announced that this year’s pandal will be modeled after Rajasthan’s iconic Umaid Bhawan Palace. The celebrations are scheduled to be inaugurated on Tritiya, the third day of Navratri.
Committee advisor Biswajit Dutta Choudhury said that, in continuation of its tradition, the Apanjan Puja this year will present fresh surprises in the form of artistic pandal design, intricate lighting arrangements, and a uniquely crafted idol — all while upholding the essence of Sanatani traditions. “In just a short span of time, our Puja has been able to build deep connections among the people of the locality,” he added.
Secretary Ranjan Roy informed that meticulous planning is underway to ensure that every aspect of the celebration—from rituals to décor—remains rooted in traditional values. “We are working hard to create something that brings joy to the community and pays homage to our cultural heritage,” he said.
Other committee members, include president Parimal Paul, treasurer Nabendu Paul, Nantu Paul, Pranabashish Kar, Mithun Paul, Sumit Paul, Raju Paul, and Tuhin Paul.
